Spring Trends 2018 Basket Bag Cat Eye Sunglasses Check Print Sling Back Shoes Ruffle Blouses
Is Spring on your mind? Surely it’s not just me scrolling through the new in pages of my favourite online shops dreaming of warmer weather. And while there’s certain choices I’ll be steering clear of for at least another month or two, there are definitely some Spring trends emerging that you can start incorporating into your wardrobe now.
Of course, there are always those wardrobe staples that you fall back on, for me it’s my favourite denim, but in this post I’m talking patterns, shapes and details to look out for, for an easy wardrobe update as we -finally- move into Spring. This is by no means an extensive list of every trend for the season, but some of those that I’m personally excited about and ones that I think that you can start shopping for and incorporating into your wardrobe now. (Without freezing to death). And that will see you right through until the temperature turns back again.
So without further a’do, here are 5 Spring trends for 2018 that you need to know now…

Check everything

Check and gingham prints are everywhere at the moment, and with such a summery vibe surely they’re only going to become more and more popular as we move into the Summer season. Expect gingham dresses and checked skirts galore. Get started now with a check mini skirt or some culottes that you can layer with cosy knitwear and boots and switch them out for lighter options as the temperature heats up.

Cat eye Sunglasses

By now I’m sure you may have noticed the tiny sunglasses that are taking instagram by storm. Cat-eye shaped sunglasses are going to be huge this Summer. If you’re not sure about the super narrow style, there are tonnes of broader options to choose from, and plus cat eye shapes are really flattering on most face shapes! If you want to be super on trend then the slim styles are the way forward!

 Slingback shoes

Slingback shoes are already making their debut. Expect to see them even more colours and heel heights in the coming months. Kitten heels will be particularly prominent, which I feel a tad funny saying as I remember just a few years ago as far as many of my peers at uni were concerned kitten heels were the ultimate sartorial sin.  But this Summer they’re making a comeback. The low heel means they’re extremely wearable and the slingback makes them the perfect chic shoe choice for the finishing touch to any outfit.

Basket Bags

Straw bags began edging their way into our wardrobes last Summer, with Cult Gaia leading the way. This Spring, high street brands are following suit in force and your can find your straw bag fix almost anywhere. Whether you opt for black, something neutral, something round or something square, there’s a basket bag for everyone. And it’s definitely not too early to get started on the trend. This style will be the bag of the Summer this year, amplifying every outfit and giving it a touch of traditional seaside chic. I’m a huge fan of this trend and already have my eye on so many basket bags, a few wont hurt right!?

Wrap Blouses

Ruffled wrap around blouses are super pretty and will be everywhere, in every print, over the coming months. There’s already plenty to choose from and floral styles are a top pick as they will be right on trend with floral prints are due to be big this Spring/Summer (surprise!). Pair your ruffled blouse with something more androgynous like a leather jacket or chunky knit to help counter balance the feminine style.
