It’s been a while since I’ve shared any kind of make up look here on my blog. In fact, I think my last peek inside my make-up bag was last Christmas, and a lot’s changed since then!
I’m currently using an amazing selection of products in my daily routine that I really love. They all work together seamlessly and I know I can count on them every day. And so I thought that now would be the perfect time to share an update of my current every day make-up routine. These are the products that I use every single morning, without fail. With these I can get my make-up done in 20 minutes, I’ve got my routine down to a T!
As someone who leaves the house at 7:45am, enjoys sleep, and doesn’t get back home until at least 7:30pm; I need products that are quick to use in the morning but will also last all day. Some of these are old favourites that I purchase time and time again, like my L’Oreal True Match foundation and the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. But there’s also some new discoveries, that I’ve recently added to my makeup bag, which have quickly become key in my work-day makeup look.
Let me know if you use any of these in your daily routine or if there are any you’ve been meaning to try!
The Base that Lasts
A base that lasts for 12+ hours and still looks good is something I have been working on perfecting for years. And I think I’ve finally cracked it! Without any kind of setting spray, this selection of products manages to stay looking fresh, right through to the end of the working day.
Benefit The POREfessional Primer – Absolutely amazing for minimising the appearance of pores. I’m sure you’ve heard of it! For even better results, pat it on rather than rubbing it in to the skin.
L’Oréal True Match Foundation – My holy grail drugstore foundation. A perfect medium but buildable coverage, that gives a glowy finish.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – Amazing for under the eyes. I use shade W3, leave to dry down for extra coverage while I do my brows, and then blend in.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer – I use this in a lighter shade to brighten under the eyes.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder – A new addition, and one that I don’t know why it took me this long to try. Absolutely amazing for setting make-up and preventing shine for a long period of time!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer – A really pretty natural bronze shade, perfect for everyday. I have the shade Nude Bronze Light (I found the original too orange).
Nars Orgasm Blush – The perfect finishing touch to the cheeks for a healthy glow.
Stripped back eyes
I keep it simple on the eyes during the week. Just lightly filling in my brows, no eyeshadow, but I always wear a lot of mascara.
bareMinerals Frame & Define Brow Styler – A really great fine tipped brow pencil, with a spoolie on the end. This little pencil is everything you need for defined brows in one compact container!
L’Oréal False Lash Sculpt Mascara – A super dramactic, black, thickening mascara. I love this for the amazing definition it gives to my lashes. I usually do two coats.
L’Oréal Volume Million Lashes So Couture Mascara – I use this to follow the False Lash Sculpt, to separate the lashes and add more length. This is my absolute favourite drugstore mascara combo!
