When I was taking the pictures for this post, I realised that I have never done a favourites post on my blog before. How I’ve had this blog for nearly 18 months and have managed to never share my monthly favourites with you, I don’t know!
I’m not someone who’s constantly trying everything new that comes out in the beauty world, more of a selective researcher. There’s nothing more frustrating than spending your hard earned cash on beauty product after beauty product, only for them to go un-used because they’re not right for you. But there’s also nothing better than discovering an amazing new product, that you know you’re going to love using every day. I’ve managed a lot of the latter recently, which is why I want to share them with you today!
When I came to write this post up I realised that I totally forgot to include my newest favourite in the pictures, whoops. I wanted to mention it anyway though… it’s the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer – no surprises there! If you haven’t picked up the concealer that’s taken the beauty world by storm this month, then get yourself to Superdrug and make the £4 purchase. I promise you wont regret it! And with 18 (!!!) shades to choose from, you’re bound to find the one for you.
Anyway without further a’do, my first EVER monthly favourites…
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Although this was on my ‘must try’ list for what felt like forever, I always thought a setting powder was just a setting powder. But was I wrong! I’ve been a loyal fan of the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder for years, and while that’s still an amazing powder (especially for £4!), there’s just something so incredible about Laura Mercier’s Translucent Loose Powder. It gives such a flawless finish to the skin, and keeps shine away for longer than anything else I’ve tried.
The bareMinerals brow pencil is just a simple, but fantastic brow product. Its got a super fine but sturdy tip, allowing for precision but with no breakage. It winds up so no need for sharpening, and it’s got a spoolie on the end to brush the product through your brows and make sure it’s evenly distributed. It’s the perfect little brow pencil and much quicker to apply in the mornings than gel, which is what I used to use. The only downside is it comes in just two colours.
The only way to have not heard about Glossier by now is if you reside under a rock. From the super hyped up, perfect millennial pink brand, comes Glossier You, their debut fragrance. I received a sample of this in my first Glossier order and it was love at first smell. It’s such a subtle but warming scent, very unusual but very pretty!
I previously spoke about the Percy & Reed volumising hair-care range in my post here. This volume mousse has changed my view on how a volume mousse should feel in the hair. I will now only accept products that leave no sticky residue in my hair in future!
This little gem from The Ordinary has been saving my tired eyes ever since I got it. I put it under my eyes when I stumble into the bathroom, bleary eyed, in the morning. It’s the first thing I do. It has a cooling sensation which instantly helps me to feel more awake, and decreases any puffiness in the eye area.
I couldn’t resist sharing another Glossier product! The Priming Moisturiser Rich is a really thick and luxurious cream with a soft lavender scent, which I actually didn’t like at first but it has really grown on me. I have to be very selective with moisturisers as most aren’t nourishing enough, especially in the Winter. But this one is both nourishing and soothing and works wonders on dehydrated skin.
Ok so these are absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a seriously delicious snack that’s made of all natural ingredients and better for you than a bar of chocolate then definitely check these out.
My new bed set up!
I’m in the process of re-designing my bedroom at the moment, it’s taking a while to get all the furniture sorted, but one thing that is finished is my bed. I went for the Elizabeth Scarlett Palmier duvet set which I just adore, and a mixture of cushions for M&S and Zara Home. Now I just need to find some curtains to match, I haven’t really decided what to go for yet.
My new phone
My phone was just over 2 years old and it had gone into the dreaded freezing stage. It finally got too annoying so I decided it was time for an upgrade. I went for the iPhone 8 in Rose Gold. I was torn between getting the plus for the camera but I just didn’t want such a big phone to carry round! Anyway, now I have an iPhone that actually keeps up with the speed I text at which makes me very happy.
