With a change in season often comes a change in skincare routine and usually a move towards more hydrating and rich products. I especially find myself having to make the shift to heavier moisturisers at this time of year, as my skin definitely doesn't love the chilly air.
This month, I have become particularly invested in testing out a number of new products, and become more intrigued as to what's actually inside my skincare, and the ingredients that really work. With the rise of brands such as The Ordinary, stripping things right back to basics is trending. And I for one, have become much more invested in learning about what I'm putting on my face.
I realise I am scraping November posting this today, but I just couldn't get the images right! I still wanted to share what I've bought and am trialling in skincare this month, so I'm just going with it 🙂
Lately, I've been looking for products that will really make a difference to my skin. In an effort to take things beyond my usual cleanser and moisturiser routine, but still keep skincare affordable, I found myself on the Deciem website, browsing through the scientific offering of The Ordinary.
I wanted to try a variety of products from across the range, opting for products with different purposes, aiming to build a skincare wardrobe. I opted for two products that hydrate, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and 100% Plant Derived Squalane. Salicylic Acid 2% Solution for blemishes, Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% for brightening and finally Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG for the under eye area (my favourite so far!).
I have only been using these for 2 weeks as I am writing this, so not quite long enough to warrant sharing my thoughts. But I am thinking of doing an updated skincare routine once I've found a combination that I really love.
Also new in this month, are a couple of items from Glossier. I was pretty restrained when I was on the Glossier website, erring on the side of caution as their products are so hyped about. But now I know why! I picked up the Priming Moisturiser Rich, as a heavy, Winter cream. And also the Balm Dotcom in Birthday which is a wonderful hydrating, not to mention deliciously scented lip balm. I now want to collect them all.
Are you introducing anything new into your skincare routine for the colder months? Let me know if you've tried any of these from The Ordinary and what I should get next time I order from Glossier!
