Blush pink suede. The ultimate girly material. Biker jackets in the blush pink material have been around for a few seasons now, but this was the first skirt I had stumbled upon in the shade. Not particularly practical for the impending Winter season, but too pretty too resist. Luckily, September has been treating us to some beautiful days, where I’ve been able to wear this beauty out of the house.
The suede, buckles and of course, the colour are what drew me to this skirt. I tend to stick to a fairly neutral colour palette with my clothes, opting for greys, creams and denim, which are all absolute staples in my wardrobe. (Though I am rocking and loving a very bright red jumper at the moment, but that’s for another post!) This shade of blush pink is the perfect amount of understated, so that it could almost classify as a neutral and work with a lot of tones, while still being a pop of colour.
The buckle detailing tones down the girly-ness of the skirt and adds a retro feel, contributing to a cooler vibe. This feature is what really sold it to me and makes it work for my style. Pink suede, with fun yet minimalist silver detailing – yes please!
I’ve styled it for daytime here with a chunky grey knit and some simple white tennis trainers from Topshop. This style of trainer is the perfect smart casual hybrid and goes with practically everything. A wardrobe essential if you ask me. But pair this skirt with a blouse and your favourite heels and it could instantly be a night-time appropriate piece.
If blush pink suede isn’t really your thing, try a graphic tee and some black ankle boots to darken the look. Or for a sporty-chic style, a white shirt paired with white trainers, would look great too. I just need to buy the perfect one so I can try this look out myself!
