NARS Lipgloss: Chelsea Girls

NARS Lipgloss – £19.50

I honestly don’t remember the last time I wore a lipgloss. I’ve been all aboard the liquid lipstick train with just about everyone else at the moment. And while I love liquid lipsticks for their staying power and intense colour, sometimes I just want something a bit quicker, easier and more subtle for the day time. Thats’s where this gloss comes in. My lip product prayers have been answered.

The Nars Lipgloss adds a subtle colour to the lips, making you look a lot more put together without really making too much effort. I have the shade Chelsea Girls, a beautiful pinky nude, perfect for every day wear. For a more intense colour you could of course pop this over the top of a lipstick to give a glossy finish.

Touch ups on the go!

I feel like lipglosses have totally fallen off the radar recently and what I’m loving most about this one is how easy it is to touch up on the go. The doe foot applicator allows for a smooth and best of all, you can do it without a mirror – dreamy!

Although lipgloss doesn’t have the staying power of a liquid lipstick, I personally find it easier to maintain. Once it’s come off you simply reapply (mirror free) without having to worry about any leftovers from the last coat causing havoc.

The Consistency

The consistency of the Nars Lipglosses is excellent, not too sticky and not too runny. Just smooth and glossy, without being over the top, as a lipgloss should be. And as always with NARS, the packaging is super sleek and beautiful, allowing for a luxurious feeling application.

This is the first shade I have tried from the range but I am keen to try some of the more intense colours, such as a red, to see how the sheerness and colour payoff compares. Is there anyone else out there also enjoying lipglosses right now or am I totally alone?!

  • Glossy lips are definitely being revived and I am so glad, it’s just so pretty and glittery and glam. There’s something so youthful about lipgloss and I am loving this shade. I see why it is so popular now and it looks amazing on you. Great post and review! Thanks for sharing, have a lovely Christmas Frances xxx

I absolutely love the look of this. Even though I adore Matte lips there is just something about glosses. I just love how glosses are so easy to apply and touch ups are a dream as you don’t need to worry about making any massive errors in application unlike liquid lipsticks. Will have to try some of them!

I love matte lips too! I definitely don’t think I’ll be replacing my matte lips with glosses any time soon but for easy days and quick and simple this is the way forward right now! Xx

  • I’m getting a NARS lipgloss for Christmas and I’m so excited as I’ve wanted one for so many years, but it’s a bright pink shade! I’m actually a huge gloss fan as like you said they’re much easier to reapply. This shade is gorgeous!
